Bobby Fish may have been released from WWE in 2021, but hes not slamming the door shut on a comeback anytime soon.

During an interview with Inside the Ring, the former NXT Tag Team Champion opened up about whether a WWE return is still on the tableand who hed want to face if he stepped back into their ring. When asked if the door was officially closed, Fish made it clear that hes not the one shutting anything down.

Fish admitted that his original dream opponent would have been Samoa Joe, but since Joe is no longer in WWE, the fantasy matchup gets complicated. He even joked about not being able to name Fit Finlay despite wanting to.

When it came to choosing a current WWE name, however, Fish didnt hesitateAJ Styles was the clear pick. He praised their chemistry from their Ring of Honor match and compared it to the same connection he had with Bryan Danielson in both Evolve and AEW.

While Bobby Fish isnt headed back to WWE just yet, hes keeping the door openand the idea of him stepping in during AJ Styles retirement run next year could be a massive moment for oldschool fans. Now its up to WWE to decide if they want to pick up the phone.
