
Back in June, the Florida Panthers successfully defended their Stanley Cup as they bested the Edmonton Oilers for the second straight year. However, as of November, the Colorado Avalanche have taken over the top spot on the odds board, with the Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes right behind. The Avalanche are also at the top of the Presidents' Trophy odds.
The Anaheim Ducks have become surprise contenders in the Western Conference after winning and 10 of their past 12, including a seven-game winning streak before falling to the Avalanche on Tuesday. Chris Kreider and crew opened the season 150-1 to win the Stanley Cup, 50-1 to win the Western Conference and 40-1 to win the Pacific Division. They currently sit at 50-1, 20-1 and +500 in those three markets respectively.
The Winnipeg Jets are fifth in the odds to win the Western Conference, thanks to a strong start by reigning Hart Trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck, the top-ranked player in ESPN Fantasy hockey. The Utah Mammoth rose as high as 35-1 to win the Stanley Cup before losing three in a row to fall to 40-1. The Metropolitan Division-leading New Jersey Devils are +500 to win the Eastern Conference and +225 to win the division, second behind the Hurricanes.
Elsewhere on the board, the Toronto Maple Leafs are 25-1 to snap their Cup drought (opened 16-1), the New York Rangers are 40-1 (opened 30-1), and the Boston Bruins sit at 200-1 after opening the regular season at 100-1.
