Former WWE United States Champion Andrade El Idolo walked out on The Crashs 14th Anniversary Show in Tijuana, Mexico, and the wrestling world is trying to figure out whats going on.
Andrade was promoted as one of the events top stars and participated in a pre-show meet-and-greet, signing autographs and posing for photos with fans. But when it came time to wrestle, he didnt compete. Instead, he allegedly left the building without explanation.
Wrestling Observers Dave Meltzer confirmed the walkout during Wrestling Observer Radio on F4WOnline.com, stating Andrade was visibly frustrated before he left.
But Andrade wasnt about to let that version of the story ride. He took to Twitter/X to push back on Meltzers claimand did it with humor.
For those in the know, thats a joking reference to Hong Kong Gentlemens Club, a well-known strip club in Tijuana. Locals often joke about going there for the food, and Andrades post was clearly aimed at downplaying the situation and dismissing the drama.
So while reports say he was unhappy, Andrade says otherwiseand made it known he wasnt bothered by the rumors. His legal status, however, is still a mess. Andrade is said to be under a one-year non-compete clause in the United States after being reportedly fired with cause by WWE back in September for multiple wellness policy violations. That clause didnt stop him from briefly returning to AEW on the October 1 episode of Dynamite, but WWE allegedly hit AEW with a legal notice, and he hasnt been seen on their programming since. AEW even reportedly instructed commentary not to mention him.
Now, after this The Crash situation, fans are wondering what Andrades next real move isand whether well see him in action again anytime soon.
Do you believe Andrades explanation or was there more to his absence than hes letting on? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know where you think hes heading next.
