Paula Badosa issued a deep message on her Instagram as the Spanish tennis star suggests that lately she has been working on healing herself and letting off wounds from the past.

After finally discovering the right treatment for her chronic back issue and doing extremely well in the second part of 2024, Badosa entered 2025 in great spirits and aiming for big things. And the Spaniard's season started with a bang after she made her maiden Grand Slam semifinal at the Australian Open, as well as secured returning to the top-10 for the first time in a few years.

Then, Badosa's rise was abruptly stopped after her back started to cause her major issues again. In the rest of the year, the 27-year-old appeared in just 10 more tournaments, without posting any notable results. In the end, the Spaniard - currently ranked at No. 25 in the world - finished the year with only an 18-12 record. Her last tournament was Beijing in late September, where she retired mid-match against Karolina Muchova.

On a personal level, Badosa also went through some changes after she and Stefanos Tsitsipas called time on their love relationship during the summer.

Badosa: When the soul breaks in silence, the reunion with oneself begins...

"Sometimes life shakes us so hard that we believe we wont be able to get back up. We go through moments when the soul breaks in silence, when doubts weigh more than hope, and when the inner noise drowns out everything else. But its right there, in that emptiness, where something sacred begins: the reunion with oneself," the 2025 Australian Open semifinalist wrote in a message posted in Spanish.

"Healing is not about forgetting or pretending it didnt hurt. Healing is looking at yourself with compassion, acknowledging your wounds, and understanding that everything you went through was a necessary part of the journey. Its discovering that peace doesnt lie in what you have or who is beside you, but in the simple act of being able to breathe calmly with yourself.

"There comes a moment when you realize you dont need anything external to feel complete. That serenity is born when you stop searching outside for what has always been within. And thats when everything changes: what once hurt now teaches; what once weighed you down now propels you forward. Because when you heal, you dont just free yourself from the past you reconcile with life."

For Badosa, certainly the No. 1 priority is to find the right treatment for her back once again and avoid the issues that plagued her throughout this year.
