Nixon Newell is finally speaking up after walking out of AEW Collision just an hour before showtimeand shes calling out the reports behind the incident.
The former WWE star took to Twitter and Instagram to post a simple but pointed message, Not everything you read is true. Remember that.
This comes after reports that both Newell and Miranda Alize bailed on their scheduled match because they were only given three minutes to work with. According to sources close to the situation, the two were totally fine with losing to Tay Melo and Anna Jay but werent happy about being short-changed on time. When they asked for more, they were told the format was locked. Thats when they allegedly dipped out of the building.
AEW was forced to make a last-minute substitution and brought in Hyan and Maya World, who were praised internally for stepping in without issue and getting the job done on short notice.
While Miranda Alize leaned in hard after the factposting fan messages about respect and teasing that she had so much to sayNewell kept quiet until now. Her cryptic post seems to push back against the narrative thats been going around all week.
Backstage sources say AEW was thrown off by the whole ordeal. Neither Newell nor Alize is under contract, and both have been working on a per-appearance basis. The walkout reportedly didnt sit well with some in the locker room, especially given how new they both are to the company.
Newell, who was released by WWE in November 2024, has been working to regain her footing in wrestling ever since. Alize, best known for her Ring of Honor run, has been trying to get back on the national radar through AEW appearances. This situationno matter what the truth iscould complicate their futures with the promotion.
With Newell finally addressing the story, even subtly, its clear theres more going on behind the scenes than whats been reported.
What do you think really went down between Nixon Newell, Miranda Alize, and AEW? Do you believe Newells messageor the backstage reports? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
