Roger Federer had a legendary career and was loved in every corner of the planet, reaching a level of popularity that is perhaps unparalleled in the history of tennis. The former Swiss champion held the most important records in men's tennis for a very long period of time, before they were taken away from him by his old rivals Rafael Nadal and especially Novak Djokovic. The Serbian ace has won 24 Grand Slam titles and has also taken the record of consecutive weeks at the top of the ATP rankings, but the legacy of the Swiss Masters goes beyond the numerous and can never be erased.
The last years of his career were unfortunately conditioned by a knee injury, which prevented him from playing as often as he would have liked from 2020 onwards. The 20-time Grand Slam champion underwent several surgeries in that time, but he was never able to return to competing at his usual level and announced his retirement in 2022. The former world No.1 played his last official event at the 2022 Laver Cup, staged at London's O2 Arena, where he was able to greet the crowd in front of all his friends and rivals.

Federers excellent footwork
After his retirement from professional tennis, Federer began to enjoy his free time together with his family and remained attached to the sport that gave him popularity by occasionally appearing in the various tournaments on the calendar.
Through his Instagram profile, top coach Patrick Mouratoglou highlighted one of the most underrated aspects of King Roger's game: Thats another confirmation, if needed, that the best players in the world are the best movers, the ones that have the best footwork, and this is Roger Federers. I love how many steps he makes. Why so many? Because he wants to have the perfect distance to the ball, and hes so precise in his footsteps.
And I would say last thing, distance between his feet. He always has the same distance, very low on the legs and with a big distance between both feet which gives him the best stability. An example of the ideal footwork for any player.
