Despite having to stay away from the professional tour for three months due to the ban he was given by WADA, Jannik Sinner still managed to make his season truly extraordinary. The current world No. 1 has won two Grand Slam titles (at the Australian Open and Wimbledon Championships respectively), two ATP 500 titles (Beijing and Vienna) and the Paris Masters 1000 last week without losing a single set.

The latest results have allowed the Italian ace to return to the top of the ATP rankings on the eve of the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, where he will try to repeat last year's extraordinary triumph. The 24-year-old from Sesto Pusteria becomes more unstoppable even in indoor conditions and has already shown that he knows how to handle pressure in the best way, which is why he will be the man to beat at the Inalpi Arena from 9 to 16 November.

Sinner jokes

As if that weren't enough, Jannik also reached the final at Roland Garros and the US Open this year (losing to his huge rival Carlos Alcaraz on both occasions). In particular, Sinner cannot forget the last act of the French Open in which he had three match points during the fourth set. He was really one step away from victory over the iconic Philippe Chatrier, before suffering the comeback of the 22-year-old Spaniard who lifted the trophy after an extraordinary battle.

In a longinterview with 'Sky Sport' a few days before the ATP Finals, the four-time Grand Slam champion joked about his mother's presence during the most painful finals he has played this year: "She was present in Rome and I lost in the final, then she was present in Paris and I lost in the final again. When she told me she was coming to Wimbledon, I wanted to tell her it was her last chance!"
