One of NJPW and AEWs hardest hitters is officially out of action.
Tomohiro Ishii has suffered a dislocated right shoulder, and theres no telling when fans will see him back in the ring. The injury took place on October 22 during a taped AEW Collision match against PAC in San Antonio, Texas. The match aired on October 25 and was described as a stiff, physical wartypical for both mens in-ring style. NJPW confirmed the injury with an official statement:
Ishiis absence comes at a time when he was gaining momentum in both AEW and NJPW. He recently aligned with key AEW stars as part of the Conglomeration and had been making regular U.S. appearances. His loss leaves a hole in both promotions plans moving forward.
While theres no official timeline for recovery, shoulder dislocations can be unpredictableespecially for someone like Ishii, whose offense relies heavily on power moves and upper body impact.
Wrestling fans know how tough The Stone Pitbull is, but this injury could keep him sidelined for longer than expected if complications arise.
What do you think Ishiis injury means for AEW and NJPWs shared roster plans? And who should step up in his absence? Send your thoughts and well wishes in the comments below.
