Carlos Alcaraz had the time he needed to reflect after his untimely elimination at the Paris Masters 1000, a tournament in which he has never found the right feeling until this point in his career. The former world No. 1 had defended the organizers' choice to make the surface slower than in the previous edition, but he put in one of the worst performances of his season against Cameron Norrie in the second round.
The young Spanish ace was never able to express his game and despite winning the first set he continued to make an excessive number of unforced errors until he surrendered in the third set after a hard battle.
The 22-year-old from Murcia is practicing harder than ever with his team these days and will leave for Turin in the middle of this week, hoping to raise his level at the Nitto ATP Finals scheduled for November 9-16. In his two appearances in Turin, the world number 2 reached the semifinals in 2023 and was eliminated already in the round robin last year also due to an illness that had affected him in the days before the start of the tournament.

 Alcaraz had an amazing 2025
Despite making several improvements in recent months, Carlitos still struggles to be effective in indoor conditions and his difficulties are exacerbated by the fact that his huge rival Jannik Sinner is almost unstoppable in these conditions having just won the Vienna ATP 500 and the Paris Masters 1000 in sequence.
Regardless of his results, there is no doubt that Alcaraz is one of the most popular players with both fans and his own colleagues. During the latest edition of the 'Table Hockey' podcast, former world number 11 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova confided that she changed her opinion of Carlos after the epic 2025 Roland Garros final: I think Alcaraz and Sinner at Roland Garros for I think five hours or moreAnd Im even surprised that I watched it without stopping, usually I cant watch a five set match.

After that I really took a liking to Alcarazbecause somehow, well I dont really know, I didnt really like his manner, because it seemed to me that he had a bit of a pretence, he smiles all the time. I think, How is that possible?. Well, I compare myself, I have just drama there all the time when I play. I think, How is it possible?, he smiles at his team all the time its too much.
