Japan's Miyu Yamashita secured her second LPGA Tour title at the Maybank Championship, the fourth event of the "Asia Swing" series. After a decisive comeback with a 65 (-7, seven birdies), the best score of the round, she finished the tournament with a 270 (66, 70, 69, 65, -18) shot, tied with Australia's Hannah Green (66, 69, 67, 68) and Korea's Hye-Jin Choi (64, 66, 67, 73), the three-round leader, before overtaking them with a birdie on the first playoff hole.

At the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (West Course, par 72), in the Malaysian capital from which the club takes its name, Benedetta Moresco performed well, finishing 16th with a 276 (65, 71, 72, 68, -12). She tied for 16th with six other competitors, including Australian Karis Davidson, who also shot a 65 (-7).

South Koreans Sei Young Kim and A Lim Kim, Japan's Akie Iwai, China's Yan Liu, and Thailand's world number one Jeeno Thitikul all missed the playoff by one stroke, finishing fourth with a 271 (-1). Lydia Ko of New Zealand and Ayaka Furue of Japan finished ninth with a 272 (-16).

Miyu Yamashita, a 24-year-old from Neyagawa, a rookie on the tour after securing her place in the Qualifying School at the end of 2024, immediately made a name for herself with her skills, winning a Major (the AIG Women's Open) and climbing to the top of the Rolex Women's Rankings, where she was sixth on the eve of this second victory. She was rewarded with a check for $450,000 from a $3,000,000 prize pool.

Benedetta Moresco, a 24-year-old from Vicenza, after being second and fourth in the opening two rounds, lost ground in the third but then found a good rhythm in the fourth with a 68 (-4, seven birdies, three bogeys). The 24-year-old from Vicenza will return to action next week in Japan at the TOTO Japan Classic (November 6-9).
