Right after IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita retained his title against Hirooki Goto at Tanahashi Final Homecoming on November 2, it was confirmed the main event for January 4, 2026: Takeshita will face IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji in a winner-takes-all showdown.
This isnt just about goldits about dominance. Both titles will be on the line when these two top stars collide in the biggest match NJPW can deliver. Takeshita, whos been steamrolling through NJPWs top names since his return from AEW, comes into the Tokyo Dome as the reigning world champ and undeniable workhorse.
