Jade Cargill has officially taken over the SmackDown womens division. After over a year of dominance and build-up, Cargill finally captured the WWE Womens Championship by steamrolling Tiffany Stratton at Saturday Nights Main Event, held at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The tension had been building for weeks after Jade Cargill turned on Stratton during the October 24 episode of SmackDown. After ambushing her in a brutal heel turn, Cargill didnt just leave a statementshe picked up the Womens Title and stared it down, signaling her intentions loud and clear. That confrontation led to a SummerSlam rematch being scheduled, setting the stage for a decisive showdown.
Ahead of the match, Tiffany Stratton was spotted limping, sparking rumors that she wasnt fully cleared to compete. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis even offered Stratton a chance to pull out of the match, but she insisted on defending her title despite the obvious disadvantage.
Once the bell rang, Stratton tried to go on the offensive, but Jade quickly overwhelmed her. Cargill targeted the injured leg immediately, dropping Stratton with a chokeslam that shook the ring. From there, the fight spilled to the outside, where Cargill kept up the punishment.
After dragging her back into the ring, Cargill hit a series of crushing powerbombs, but Stratton refused to stay down, kicking out of every pin attempt. Still, Jade wasnt rattled. She continued the assault and finally hit her finishing move, the Jaded, to seal the win and become the new WWE Womens Champion.
The victory marked a defining moment in Jade Cargills WWE run. Not only did she send a message to the entire locker room with her ruthless performance, but she officially ended Tiffy Time and started a new era with herself at the top of the mountain.
