Jannik Sinner continues to impress and has a real chance to return to the top of the ATP rankings at the end of the Paris Masters 1000, if he defeats Canadian ace Felix Auger-Aliassime in tomorrow's final. It would be a really crazy achievement for him, considering that the 24-year-old Italian has not been able to play for three months this year (from February to May) due to the controversial ban he was given by WADA.
The star from Sesto Pusteria is unapproachable for all his opponents in indoor conditions and although he did not express his best tennis for most of this week in the French capital he was able to withstand the difficulties by raising his level exponentially in the last two rounds.
The four-time Grand Slam champion literally demolished Ben Shelton and Alexander Zverev, demonstrating a superiority at times embarrassing that is also certified by the numbers. The current world number 2 has achieved his 25th victory in a row in indoor conditions and will also be the huge favorite at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, scheduled from 9 to 16 November, where he will try to repeat his extraordinary run from last year.

During his match against Shelton in the quarterfinals at the 'Dfense Arena', the former world number 1 became the protagonist of a rather unusual episode towards his team. Jannik complained to Darren Cahill accusing him of not supporting him enough in a decisive moment of the clash, but the case was immediately extinguished and an embrace between the Italian star and the legendary Australian coach was immortalized after the end of the match.
Speaking to 'Eurosport', WTA legend Justine Henin expressed her honest view on the matter: "Although Sinner always conveys the feeling of being a machine, that doesn't mean he doesn't feel emotions. We don't always know everything that goes on behind the scenes and Jannik admitted that he has had some difficulties in recent weeks. Despite this, he continues to win with relative ease."
