The age of WWEs creative team is once again under scrutiny, with growing talk that the companys decision-makers are simply too old to connect with modern fans or the evolving wrestling world. Critics argue that WWEs storytelling reflects a dated mindsetone shaped by people whove been in the business for decades and dont see beyond the WWE bubble.
During the November 1, 2025 episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that while WWE has some younger writers on staff, the actual power sits in the hands of a much older groupTriple H, Bruce Prichard, Michael Hayes, and Paul Heyman. Meltzer explained that this top-heavy structure has made WWEs creative approach stale.
He went on to say that this older generation of creatives has been shaped by WWEs internal culture for so long that they rarely engage with other wrestling styles or ideas from outside the company.
Meltzer argued that without younger mindsand without people who pay attention to wrestling outside WWEthe company risks becoming creatively stagnant.
With wrestling audiences younger, more global, and more online than ever, Meltzers comments raise serious questions about whether WWEs creative process can keep pace with todays fans. Its a harsh reminder that the same minds who once built WWEs success might now be the ones slowing it down.
