Iga Swiatek claims "staying energized" after 11 months of competing is the hardest thing to navigate at this part of the year, but also highlights that she is ready to make a run at the WTA Finals.

Swiatek, who kicked off her 2025 season by making the United Cup final with Poland, has appeared in 76 matches so far this year and owns a 61-15 record. This weekend, the Polish tennis giant will be starting her 19th tournament of the year at the WTA Finals.

Motivation and health are never the hardest parts. Its staying energized after eleven months that really takes effort," the six-time Grand Slam champion said.

Swiatek: We are competing against the best at the WTA Finals

As you all know, the eight players who have accumulated the most points throughout the year earn the right to compete at the WTA Finals. This year, those players are Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova, Jessica Pegula, Jasmine Paolini, Madison Keys and Elena Rybakina. The Pole shares the same group as Anisimova, Keys and Rybakina.

You realize how far youve come and how special it is to be among the best eight players. Sometimes we forget to have fun because were always competing, but events like this remind me of that side of the game... Every player here has earned it. You cant take anything for granted every match feels like a final. But thats what makes this tournament so exciting. You know youre competing against the best," the world No. 2 noted.

For Swiatek, this will be her fifth consecutive WTA Finals appearance. In 2023 - when the season-ending tournament was held in Cancun - the Polish tennis star made it all the way. Last year in Riyadh, the 24-year-old didn't make it past the group stage.

Swiatek kicks off her 2025 WTA Finals run by taking on Madison Keys.
