Goldbergs recent jab at Asuka has ignited backlash from fans and now even from one of his own longtime peers. On a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T directly addressed Goldbergs controversial remarks about Asukas undefeated WWE streak and he didnt mince words.
It all started when Goldberg dismissed Asukas legendary run in WWE by suggesting it was a cheap imitation of his famous 1730 streak from WCW. Referring to her dismissively as some girl, Goldberg claimed WWE purposely gave Asuka an undefeated run to detract from his own legacy.
Booker T, while acknowledging Goldberg as a friend, pushed back hard on that kind of talk. The two-time Hall of Famer made it clear that wrestling veterans have had their time and need to stop taking shots at the current generation of talent.
Booker acknowledged that while constructive criticism is part of the business, tearing down younger stars crosses a line.
He went on to explain his philosophy one that respects the old school while embracing the evolution of the business.
Asuka herself responded with her usual level-headed class, brushing off Goldbergs comments entirely.
The bigger story here may not be Goldbergs bitterness, but Booker Ts stance a reminder that legends should uplift, not overshadow. The business moves forward, and as Booker T made clear, respect needs to go both ways.
Do you agree with Booker T that legends like Goldberg should stop criticizing todays talent? Or was Goldberg just defending his legacy? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know where you stand.
