As the WWE and TNA crossover continues to deliver surprise appearances on NXT, one major question has loomed largehow are TNA wrestlers getting paid for their time on WWE programming? Now, the structure behind those appearances has finally been revealed.
According to Fightful Select, TNA talent who appear on NXT are indeed compensatedbut the amount depends on what role they play during the taping. Simply showing up or being brought in and not used earns the lowest payout. The number increases if the talent wrestles, and those who land in the main event take home the highest rate for the night.
This means that the TNA wrestlers who closed out a recent NXT Showdown event reportedly earned more than their peers who worked earlier in the show or simply made non-wrestling cameos.
Meanwhile, some NXT talent whove worked TNA shows say they were not paid anything extra for those appearances. Its unclear whether thats standard across the board or if those deals vary by performer or situation.
This info clears up a lot of speculation from fansespecially around former WWE talent now working NXT shows as part of the TNA roster. Many believed WWE was using them at a cheaper rate now that theyre technically no longer under WWE contract, but this new report confirms theyre at least getting paidespecially if theyre being featured prominently.
