The serious Achilles tendon injury suffered by Holger Rune has shaken the tennis world, as the young Danish star will have to stay away from the professional tour for many months and will not have the chance to continue his growth process regularly.
The former world No.4 who could have qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin (although he had little chance) was really unlucky during the Stockholm ATP 250 semi-final, as he was looking to win his second title this year after his success in Barcelona in the spring. His mother Aneke has been very critical of the ATP, citing excessive fatigue as one of the causes that led to her son's serious injury.
He has already undergone surgery and has promised fans that he will use all his mental strength to overcome this moment by returning to action stronger than before.

During the latest edition of the podcast hosted by Italian analysts Simone Eterno and Jacopo Lo Monaco on Eurosport, the latter said that this injury could be the best thing that happened to Rune. Lo Monaco wanted to say that this stop could represent an important opportunity for his personal growth, but his phrase was ambiguous and generated controversy on the web.
When he listened to Jacopo's words, former world number 6 Matteo Berrettini responded very harshly through the following message: Guys, I understand everything, really but this stuff is truly chilling. To think that an injury of this magnitude could be the best thing that could happen to a 22-year-old player ranked No. 11 in the world means one of two things: either youre speaking in bad faith, or you understand very little about this sport and about sports in general."
