Jannik Sinner's debut at the Vienna ATP 500 was a total domination from start to finish, considering that the world number 2 left only two games to the German ace unleashing one of the best performances of his season.
The Italian champion was impeccable in all respects and reiterated that he is the big favorite in all the tournaments in which he will participate between now and the end of the season, because the indoor conditions are ideal for his game and every opponent fears him not knowing how to stem his power from the baseline.
The 24-year-old from Sesto Pusteria has not been affected even by the controversy that has affected him in recent days, more precisely since he announced that he will not lead Italy to the Davis Cup Finals scheduled in Bologna next month. After an intense and particular season (especially due to the three-month ban that was imposed on him by WADA), the four-time Grand Slam champion feels the need to recharge his batteries after the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin and admitted that the fact that he has already won the Davis Cup twice (in the last two editions) has affected his decision.

Sinner will face Cobolli in Vienna
The former world No.1 will be back in action in Vienna for the round of 16 against his compatriot Flavio Cobolli today. The latter has a great relationship with Jannik off the court and it will be their first clash on the professional tour.
After eliminating Czech star Tomas Machac on his debut, the world number 22 analyzed the upcoming challenge against Sinner: "He is a cannibal and has won almost all the derbies he has played against other Italian players, so I know that a very tough match awaits me from all points of view. It will still be a huge experience for me and I will try to put him in difficulty, in the hope of feeling a little better than my first match."
