
The DP World Tour's Genesis Championship is a do-or-die tournament. The final event of the regular season of the top European men's tour, it will be held from October 23rd to 26th at the Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, South Korea. Following the event, only the top 70 players from the "Race to Dubai" order of merit will qualify for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship (November 6th-9th in the United Arab Emirates), the first round of the playoffs. After that, the top 50 will fly to Dubai (November 13th-16th) for the DP World Tour Championship, the final event of the 2025 DP World Tour.

In South Korea, Italy will field Francesco Laporta, Guido Migliozzi, and Andrea Pavan. The former, a 35-year-old from Castellana Grotte (Bari), is in 59th place, ahead of Migliozzi, a 28-year-old from Vicenza, in 79th place. Further back is Pavan, a 36-year-old from Rome, who rose 10 places in the DP World India Championship and is now ranked 82nd.
An Byeong-hun, who is now seeking a repeat victory in an all-South Korean playoff, defeated Tom Kim in 2024. Two other home crowd favorites, Sungjae Im and Si Woo Kim, will also be aiming high. They will be joined by big names such as Japan's Hideki Matsuyama (bronze medalist at the Paris Games and Masters Champion in 2021) and Australia's Adam Scott (champion at Augusta in 2013). Another Japanese athlete, Keita Nakajima, also has a chance, as well as England's Laurie Canter. The challenge will be even more challenging because only those among the top 115 in the "Race to Dubai" at the end of the Genesis Championship will retain their "card" for the 2026 DP World Tour. The event will guarantee a prize pool of $4,000,000, of which $680,000 will go to the winner.
