Pro wrestling can intersect in a Venn diagram with any other sector of sports and entertainment. Now were seeing a very interesting recipe that has resulted in a huge controversy outside the pro wrestling world.
In 2022, Ned Fulmer was fired from The Try Guys after admitting to a relationship with a woman in his company. This affair broke company rules, and it was also a huge blow to their fan base. It hit hard because he had built his whole image around being a loyal husband and family man.
The affair for Ned Fulmer was with a producer from the team, and since Ned was a co-owner, it raised serious issues about power dynamics. The remaining Try Guys then released a video explaining they had cut ties with him. The story exploded online and went absolutely viral after that. Now that story has reached the pro wrestling bubble.
Fast-forward to 2025 and Ned Fulmer has come back into the spotlight with a podcast called Rock Bottom. People have had mixed opinions of this new podcast, especially since he had his now-separated wife, who hasnt forgiven him, as a guest on the first episode.
Ned is trying things out once again, but hes avoiding the use of that word try by any means necessary. He is now more doing, fixing, and learning about things, and that apparently includes pro wrestling.
Ned Fulmer made his professional wrestling debut at an AEW Collision taping in Jacksonville on October 8, 2025. He wrestled a dark match under the name Nasty Ned, teaming with Angelico and Serpentico. The appearance sparked controversy due to the 2022 scandal that led to his exit from The Try Guys. This brought a highlight video from Spill Sesh, and many more commentated on it outside the pro wrestling bubble, where Ned Fulmer has a huge controversy.
During the Just Trish Podcast, Trisha Paytas, her husband Moses Hacmon, and her co-host Oscar Gracey brought up Ned Fulmer trying out pro wrestling. Needless to say, they were not here for the idea. As they dragged Ned over his previous controversy, and his futile attempts to regain some semblance of fame, his AEW appearance came into the conversation.
It wasnt even WWE or anything, it was some local, regional wrestling, Trisha Paytas said as she said what she understood about AEW. She then proceeded to drag Ned Fulmers wrestling attire, because he went with orange long boy tights that were not very appealing.
After looking over the dismal viewership numbers for Neds Rock Bottom podcast, they commented that this may be why hes trying out pro wrestling now. Trisha Paytas went on to drag Ned Fulmer over this career choice to step in the squared circle. She also said its nowhere near Logan Pauls level that hes reached in WWE.
Ned Fulmer is from Jacksonville, Florida, so that may have helped him with his Tony Khan connection. We will have to see if AEW ever airs that controversial match, but its likely to turn up on Ned Fulmers YouTube channel in the future.
One of the most unfortunate parts of this situation is for WWE fans, because theyve caught some strays in this situation. Weve seen a number of TikTok videos that have massive views where people are confusing AEW for WWE in this story, because its pro wrestling and they dont know the difference.
Whats your take on Ned Fulmers situation? Does he deserve a second chance to try things out again on his own? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
