
Holger Rune will not chase his second ATP title of the season at the Stockholm Open. The top seed faced Ugo Humbert in the semi-final and led 6-4, 2-2 when he experienced a massive setback.
The young Dane injured his left leg's Achilles tendon on a break point in the fifth game, telling his team that he heard the pop while heading toward his bench on one leg.
Holger received a medical timeout, but his tears said enough, with the top seed retiring and propelling his rival into the final. Rune will likely miss many months following the biggest setback of his career.
Rune saved five of six break points and delivered two breaks to claim the opening set. Ugo forged a 4-2 lead in the opener before dropping four straight games to hand the opener to the top seed.

The Dane did a fine job to overcome the deficit, providing back-to-back breaks and taking the first part of the diel 6-4 in 48 minutes. A left-hander faced a break point at 2-2 in the second set.
Holger injured his left leg while chasing a ball, feeling instant pain and heading toward the bench. Humbert came to help him and moved over the top when world no. 11 retired in tears after receiving a medical timeout.
