Brock Lesnars shocking WWE return at SummerSlam and his destruction of John Cena at WrestlePalooza has sparked plenty of debate. Some fans believe bringing back a part-time legend like Lesnar shows WWE is low on credible stars. But according to Eric Bischoff, that couldnt be further from the truth.
Speaking to the Toronto Sun, the former WCW boss shut down the idea that Lesnars comeback is a sign of weakness in WWEs roster. Instead, he framed it as a smart play rooted in wrestling history.
Bischoff argued that in todays oversaturated TV landscape, having someone like Lesnar show up occasionally helps the product stand out. With more wrestlers appearing weekly than ever before, its hard for any single name to feel special. Thats where a returning powerhouse like Lesnar creates a much-needed spark.
For Bischoff, Lesnars return isnt about WWE being out of ideas or running out of talent. Its about understanding when and how to deliver big moments.
And if you think WWE is scrambling for stars, Bischoff strongly disagrees. He believes there are plenty of top-tier talents already in placemany of whom are just one strong storyline away from exploding into the main event picture.
Lesnar hasnt been seen since WrestlePalooza, but reports indicate hes already internally listed for the 2026 Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia and WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. WWE clearly isnt throwing him into the mix out of desperationtheyre playing the long game.
Do you agree with Eric Bischoffs take on Brock Lesnar being used as a special attraction? Or do you think WWE should focus more on full-time talent? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
