Nick Kyrgios confirms he intends to be back for the 2026 season, at least for the Australian Open.

After undergoing knee and wrist surgeries and basically missing the entire 2023 and 2024 seasons, Kyrgios made his long-awaited comeback at the start of the 2025 season in Brisbane. Unfortunately for the seven-time ATP champion, his early comeback didn't go well after he dealt with wrist pain and picked up back-to-back first-round exits in Brisbane and Melbourne Park.

Kyrgios then took a one-month break before returning to action at the Masters tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami. In Indian Wells, the former world No. 13 retired in the first round while he won his first-round match in Miami before losing to Karen Khachanov. Shortly after the Sunshine Double, the 30-year-old also started to deal with knee issues, and he hasn't played since.

During the first part of 2025, Kyrgios dropped several retirement hints. Naturally, it led to some speculating whether he would play again, considering how rough the last half a year has been for the Australian.

Kyrgios: I'll definitely say goodbye at the Australian Open at least one more time

Yeah, Ill probably play the Aussie Open in some way. Im not too sure what events Ill play, but I definitely will say goodbye at the Aussie Open at least one more time," the 30-year-old said on UNSCRIPTED with Josh Mansour.

While Kyrgios competing at the Australian Open at least one more time is a safe bet, the seven-time ATP champion - who is currently ranked at No. 661 in the world - admits he is not sure how much his body can take it anymore.
