Like 12 months ago, Roger Federer has returned to the Shanghai Masters! The two-time champion arrived at one of his most favorite tournaments and the most notable tennis event in Asia.
The Swiss star will embrace theRoger Federer and friends celebrity doubles match on Friday, offering his fans another chance to see him in action on the court.
Last October, Federer enjoyed a couple of thrilling days in Shanghai. He explored the city, played a charity match, hit with Carlos Alcaraz and watched the final between Novak Djokovic and Jannnik Sinner!
Roger embraced a 23-6 run at the youngest Masters 1000 event. He debuted in 2010 and defeated Novak Djokovic before missing the title against Andy Murray. The Briton defeated the Swiss in the semi-final two years later.
Federer lost to Gael Monfils in 2013 and made a stronger push toward his first trophy a year later. The crowd favorite bested Novak Djokovic and Gilles Simon en route to the title before suffering a shocking loss to Albert Ramos-Vinolas in 2015.

Roger bounced back in 2017 and defeated Juan Martin del Potro and Rafael Nadal for his second and last Shanghai crown. The Swiss provided his A-game against his greatest rival and earned a memorable victory.
Federer dominated his service games and provided three breaks to emerge at the top in style. The defending champion lost to Borna Coric in the semi-final in 2018 and returned to Shanghai for the last time 12 months later.
It was Roger's eighth and final competitive trip to this event, and it ended with a tight quarter-final defeat to Alexander Zverev. The Swiss has been a regular guest at a Masters 1000 event in the previous years, and the crowd will have a chance to see him in action on Friday alongside two quarter-finals.
