Carlos Alcaraz is spending his 41st week as world no. 1. The 22-year-old matched Andy Murray on the ultimate ranking list, becoming the 16th player to achieve that number since the start of the ATP ranking in 1973.

Carlos will pass the Briton next week and soon catch his next target, Gustavo Kuerten, who accumulated 43 weeks on the ATP throne. After that, the El Palmar native will target Jim Courier and his greatest rival, Jannik Sinner.

Following his ATP 500 crown in Tokyo and Jannik's early Shanghai Masters defeat following a retirement, the young Spaniard has almost secured his second year-end no. 1 honor.

Carlos has forged a massive 2540 points advantage at the top of the ATP Race, almost securing to wrap up the year as the world's best player. Alcaraz had to wait for two years to reclaimed the ATP throne.

He made a slow start to the 2025 season and claimed one ATP 500 title in the opening three months. However, he turned the tables in Monte Carlos and never looked back, rattling off nine finals and lifting seven trophies!
