The Laver Cup is a competition that grows in popularity every year and its popularity seems set to increase. This year's tournament featured talented players from both Team World and the European team.
Among the players who were part of Team World was Alex Michelsen, an American tennis player.
The 21-year-old was originally not supposed to play in this competition, but after several withdrawals, he was added to the team.
In an interview with the Nothing Major Podcast, he pointed out that he was the first reserve, and the conversation with Andre Agassi, the captain of the team, particularly delighted him.

Then three guys pulled out, and I called Andre for like an hour. I didnt think hed be that into it, but he was crazy into it.
Andre Agassi was an important figure in this competition, mostly due to his experience and also the relative inexperience of the young players.
Michelsen revealed that after returning to the court he was unable to hit the ball for about 40 minutes. In moments of crisis, when the team failed to take the necessary steps, Agassi directed the situation and helped them not to fall mentally.
I came out and couldnt make a ball for like 40 minutes, Michelsen said. I was walking out side by side with Andre and thought, Dude, whats going on right now?
Andre helped me loosen up as the match went on, but yeah, I was tight as a rope, he said.

Agassi's personality
Michelsen was most impressed by the openness of the tennis legend and team captain, as he was always available to the players.
Michelsen himself called Agassi at times and was a bit surprised that a legend like Agassi was up so early.
The American tennis legend thus showed his leading qualities, and in addition, he aroused additional interest in this kind of competition among tennis fans.
It is to be hoped that the next editions will be just as exciting, with equally important figures. Team World showed that it has serious quality, and although some underestimated their chances, stressing that they are outsiders in that duel, it seems that this has awakened them with additional motivation and desire to win.
