The two seem to have great chemistry and can really achieve great results together. Although the form of the Russian tennis player is not yet at the highest level, Medvedev is clearly picking up the pace and could once again resemble the form he had a few years ago.
In an interview with the media, he reflected on his progress to the quarterfinals, revealing what he focused on the most during the match.
There were some aspects of the game in which he did not excel, but in the end it was enough to win against Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, whom he defeated in two sets, 6-3, 6-3.

How did his performance at the China Open two years ago, when he played in the final, compare to his current performances? The 29-year-old points out that his serve may have been a little better then, but that his movement and feel for the game have definitely improved.
However, Daniil is trying to be as dominant as he was then and emphasizes that he is satisfied with his performance, considering that such performances are largely reminiscent of his former form.
