The North American Championship was well represented at No Mercy.
WWEs NXT brand presented No Mercy tonight at the FTL War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ethan Page has proclaimed himself as the greatest North American Champion, and he had quite a fight at No Mercy. Tavion Heights has been trying hard to rise up the NXT roster since leaving the No Quarter Catch Crew. At No Mercy, he received quite an opportunity.
This match went down right after Ava announced that an NXT and TNA Wrestling Invasion event is going down on October 7. Fans were more than ready to see this match go down, as All Ego made his way out as champion.
This match was a hard-hitting contest, with both competitors trying to outdo each other. At one point, Tavion Heights kicked out after taking an Egos Edge, but All Ego turned that into a Boston Crab instead. Heights fought out of it, and the match continued.
Things kept going from there and Ethan Page nailed a powerslam from the top rope followed by a Twisted Grin for the win. After the match, the AAA Latin American Champion, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr, showed up on the screen. He made it very clear that he has his masked eyes on Pages title. After that, Page left while the luchadors music played.
This was a good match for the North American Title, and it further cemented Page as a top player in the brand. At the same time, Tavion Heights proved that he can hang in marquee matches, and one day he will likely reach the top.
