Carlito left WWE after heconfirmed WWE didnt choose to renew his contract. While hes clearly thriving in the indies, Carlito has now admitted he screwed himself over by signing a shorter deal with WWE.
While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Carlito talked about his WWE exit, explaining that when he re-signed with the company under Triple Hs leadership, his main goal was to stay calm and accept whatever creative direction he was given.
Carlito stated that his contract eventually expired, but he felt he had screwed himself by agreeing to a shorter deal than normal. In his view, WWE likely would have allowed him to complete a standard-length contract and then released him, which means his choice effectively cost him an extra year with the company.
As far as a WWE return is concerned, Carlito previously made it clear he would be open to returning to WWE in a limited role. Regardless, Carlitos story shows how signing a contract can change a wrestlers career. He now thinks a longer deal would have been better, but hes staying positive and is already doing well on the independent wrestling scene and thats all that matters in the end.
