Boris Becker admits being prevented from having sex during his time in prison was a hard pill to swallow and reveals it was "the longest" he has gone without intercourse since he was 15.
In late April of 2022, the jury found Becker guilty of hiding assets after declaring bankruptcy. The same day, the German tennis legend was transported to Wandsworth Prison, where he started serving his two-and-a-half-year sentence. A couple of weeks later, he was moved to Huntercombe Prison, where he stayed until being deported to Germany just before 2022 Christmas.
Since being released, Becker has spoken about his prison experience several times. Now, in his memoir, he opened up about another thing that was hard to deal with behind bars.
Becker: I found it brutal that sex was not allowed
In other countries, including Italy, prisoners are allowed private conjugal time with their spouses. It helps a little bit that I was in my fifties. Some of the younger boys must go up the wall. For human beings sex is a bit like drinking water and having food. Its a part of us. That this is not allowed I find it brutal," the former six-time Grand Slam champion said.
When asked directly if it was the longest he had gone without intercourse in his life, Becker admitted: Of course. Lets say from when I was 15 or 16 or whenever it started with me."
The former world No. 1 is currently in his third marriage. With his first wife Barbara Feltus, the German shares two kids, while he and his second wife Lilly Kerssenberg have one child.
Last year, Becker married for the third time when he and Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro tied the knot. In June, they announced that they were expecting their first child. Now, the 57-year-old is set to become a parent for the fourth time.
