The WWE partnership between Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser has been one of the most dominant alliances of the modern era, but Kaiser has now revealed the real reason behind their recent separation on television.
Speaking on the Kennt jeder podcast with Hamad Firdousi, Kaiser admitted the split wasnt forced by WWE management, but something he and Gunther came up with themselves. He reflected on their history together, from their days in wXws Ringkampf to the creation of Imperium in WWE.
He explained how the dynamic of Ringkampf worked and how it carried into Imperium, with Gunther positioned as the leader and himself as part of the tag team unit.
Kaiser stressed that working alongside Gunther elevated him but also limited how he was viewed.
The German star admitted the move was a gamble but one he felt he had to take to prove himself in WWE.
Kaiser recently took on the role of El Grande Americano after Chad Gable was sidelined with shoulder surgery, with Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate surfacing as his masked accomplices. Meanwhile, Gunther has been out of action since SummerSlam due to nose surgery but is expected back soon.
The decision to split from Gunther shows Kaisers determination to carve out his own path, even after years of being tied to one of WWEs most dominant figures.
