WrestlePalooza was supposed to be WWEs big ESPN debut, but instead of fans celebrating the start of a new era, a storm of complaints hit social media. Not only did the show face criticism for its finish and lack of surprises, but fans who paid $29.99 to watch were left frustrated when the ESPN app locked them out of the event entirely.

BodySlam.nets Cassidy Haynes was one of the first to put a spotlight on the issue. He posted a screenshot that showed the dreaded error message Unable to access this event. Along with the image, he sarcastically wrote, Well. Glad this new gimmick is working smoothly. That one post triggered a flood of responses from people who had the exact same problem.

One disappointed fan admitted they subscribed specifically for big matches but couldnt even watch them, This entire thing is a joke. So I have the same thing as you do and they want more money! I barely watch anything under the WWE banner but really wanted to see Brock and Cena along with AJ Lee. Oh well.I wish the WWE well in their future endeavors!

Others said even when they did manage to log in, the process was a nightmare. A frustrated user explained, Took me about 10 tries to connect. Already had my provider connected and it still kept taking me to buy the plan. This is nothing new from the espn app, its awful when trying to watch almost anything.

Some believed ESPN had quietly downgraded older bundles, forcing them to pay extra. A customer vented, Same issue apparently the old ESPN plus bundle got demoted to select and they want more money a month. Kw after saying they didnt. I am also a spectrum customer and still cant get it without hoops.

Another fan revealed that after AEW All Out ended, they tried switching over to WrestlePalooza but were completely blocked out, writing, After All Out finished up, the people I was watching with, we tried to change over to watch Wrestlepalooza, but we couldnt figure it out! Why was it sooo tough????

Simple attempts failed for others too. One person posted, Same thing happened to me while another added, I get mine through Verizon as well and had this same result. I didnt try any further lol.

Some viewers openly admitted they found workarounds to dodge ESPNs price hikes, with a few suggesting Netflix streaming and VPNs. One bluntly said, Netflix and vpn to Canada, while another added, Netflix and a VPN is the way to go.

Eventually, Haynes himself updated fans saying the stream finally began working midway through the show. He wrote, It started working halfway through the show. So. Like I thought I had the right stuff tiered.

Between a $30 price point, messy creative decisions, and major tech issues, WWEs first ESPN premium live event left many wondering whether this new chapter is off to a disastrous start rather than a triumphant one.
