Novak Djokovic's future has been a topic of discussion since the US Open ended, in which he reached the semifinals losing to Carlos Alcaraz at the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. The former world No. 1 completed an entire season by reaching the semifinals in all the Major tournaments, but he didn't come close to making tennis history again due to the impressive level expressed by Jannik Sinner and Carlitos Alcaraz.
The Serbian legend was not afraid to externalize his current difficulties, but at the same time he reiterated that he wants to continue competing at the highest level by chasing the dream of becoming the oldest player ever to win a Grand Slam title.
It is not clear which tournaments Nole will play in the latter part of this season, indeed it is likely that his schedule will be very reduced since only the Major tournaments interest him at this stage of his career. He recently moved to Greece with his whole family and will certainly participate in the Athens ATP 250 scheduled for November, while his presence at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin is uncertain, which he already skipped last year.

Djokovic will play in Athens
Most experts and insiders are convinced that 2026 can really be the last year of Novak's career, as he will make his last attempt to win a Major title before starting a new chapter in his life.
In a recent interview, former American champion Andre Agassi who briefly collaborated with Djokovic in the past expressed an interesting consideration about the Serbian's attitude: "Nole has extreme dedication to everything he does, even during his free time! He takes everything very seriously. He always wants to give his best and an exceptional intellectual ability off the court, while on the court he does not always make the right choices."
Although he has played few tournaments again this year, the former world No. 1 is in third place in the ATP Race and is close to qualifying for the ATP Finals.
