Kevin Owens has been on the road to recovery after undergoing neck surgery earlier this year. In the meantime, Owens makes sure to check out other wrestling promotions and unsurprisingly, he made an appearance for an indie promotion recently.
Green Mountain Wrestling took to their Twitter account and uploaded a video featuring Kevin Owens, who introduced himself by his real name, Kevin Steen. Owens explained that he wished he could be at the show in Vermont to personally present the championship belt to the promotions first-ever titleholder.
Owens added that he has been following Green Mountain Wrestling for a while and finds it exciting to watch the promotion grow. Owens mentioned that if he had been there, he would have loved to hand over the belt himself, even pointing out that one of the side plates on the title features a move connected to him. Since he couldnt attend in person, he planned to follow the results online and encouraged fans at the event to enjoy the show.
Owens wished all the competitors luck and told them to give their best effort, stating how eager he is to see who becomes champion. He ended by saying he hopes to attend a GMW show soon, joking that he had talked long enough and that the crowd was ready to watch wrestlers punch each other in the face.
The Prizefighter has also made it clear he hopes to make his in-ring return next year, though nothing is guaranteed yet. Nonetheless, Kevin Owens message shows that even when he isnt wrestling, he still supports the business. Using his old name, Kevin Steen, also gave longtime fans a nice bit of nostalgia to enjoy, and that was just the icing on the cake for many people.
