Fans were left confused when WWE abruptly canceled the contract signing between Stephanie Vaquer and IYO SKY on Raw, a segment that was supposed to set up their WWE Womens World Championship clash at Wrestlepalooza.
Adam Pearce told viewers that Vaquer would still be ready for the September 20 event, but no explanation was given for why the segment didnt happen. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Vaquer was dealing with a minor injury, which caused WWE to pull her from the show.
Meltzer also noted that the details werent fully known earlier in the week.
By the following day, WWE cleared things up and confirmed that Vaquer was good to go.
Vaquer even appeared on NXT, where she set up a match for the September 16 Homecoming episode at Full Sail University. As of now, shes still on track to face IYO SKY at Wrestlepalooza.
Do you think WWE should have been more open about why the segment was pulled, or was keeping it quiet the right call? Share your thoughts in the comments.
