Aryna Sabalenka's 2025 season could be considered very good even before her triumph at the US Open, but it was clear that the Belarusian player had the desire to clinch a Grand Slam title to confirm that she is the strongest in the world right now.
She had suffered several disappointments in the Majors this year and the loss against Amanda Anisimova in the semifinal of the Wimbledon Championships could have undermined her certainties, instead Aryna confirmed her extraordinary feeling with New York by beating Jessica Pegula in a very balanced semifinal and taking revenge on local idol Anisimova in the final.
The four-time Grand Slam champion became the first player since Serena Williams to win the title at Flushing Meadows two years in a row and will try to shine in the latter part of the season as well.

Sabalenkas 2025 is amazing
Sabalenka is motivated to become the best version of herself and didn't want to end a year without even a Major title, which is why she showed all her mental strength and was able to celebrate one of the most special moments of her career.
Speaking on 'The Tennis Podcast', tennis legend Todd Woodbridge predicted how many Grand Slam titles Aryna will win next year: It was the most important win I think she has had. Because things could have easily started to get away from her next year with all of the chances.
I think you could see that pour out of her after it all, even in the speech with her saying that people dont know how hard I have worked to get to here. That is the truth and you can see that. I think that tournament win now allows her to go on. I think if she had lost, I dont think she would have gone on in 2026 to achieve more.

Todd also added: I think she would win one, maybe two next year as well, because her consistency of getting into the semis and the finals now is starting to equal those moments of a Serena. She is probably not going to get all those wins, but consistency is so important, particularly in the womens game.
