Rory McIlroy is currently playing in the Irish Open. As he has always done throughout his career, this time he has shown his ambition and desire to take a big step. However, the Northern Irish golfer could not be particularly happy considering that he started the first day with a round of 1 under par.

He clearly showed his frustrations regarding the golf course, and the question is where the tournament will be held in the future.

Theories are now emerging that the tournament could be held at Trump International Doonbeg. It is important to point out that this golf course has not hosted The Open Championship since 2014.

The 36-year-old golfer shared his feelings about playing on Trump's course, knowing that it would be a great opportunity.

The famous golfer has never had the opportunity to play on such a golf course, but he has always been open to such options, hoping that it could be a great experience.

"I've never played Doonbeg," McIlroy said, as quoted by the Express.

"I might have gone there for dinner once while I was down playing Lahinch at some point.

But no, I mean, I've obviously heard the rumours. I'm not sure if it's confirmed or not, or when the schedule comes out, but if it were to go there, I'd have no problem.

You know, the Scottish Championship was played at a Trump property near Aberdeen there a few weeks ago and looked like it was a great event.

We're going back to Doral next year on the PGA Tour. So if it's back on a links course, I'm not sure how Doonbeg stacks up in terms of other links courses in the country, but I'd be absolutely happy to go there and play."

Donald Trump wants to help the golf world

The US president has proven to be a real mediator in the talks between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour.

As an important figure in the world, he has tried to speed up these negotiations and get the golf world back on its feet. However, things are still far from a final agreement and it seems that fans of the sport will have to be patient.
