The stars of the DP World Tour will compete in the Amgen Irish Open. In Straffan, a village in County Kildare, Ireland, from September 4th to 7th at "The K Club," some of the stars of Team Europe will also take to the field at the 45th edition of the Ryder Cup (September 26th to 28th in Bethpage, New York). Among them are Rory McIlroy (world number 2, who won the tournament on this course in 2016) and Shane Lowry (who won as an amateur in 2009), as well as Tyrrell Hatton, a member of LIV Golf, the Arab Super League. They will also be joined by captain Luke Donald and Francesco Molinari, one of the European vice-captains along with his brother Edoardo (runner-up in the 2014 Irish Open).

The big names in the competition Northern Irishman McIlroy, second last year, is not only the man to beat but also the current number 1 on the DP World Tour. Along with Lowry and Hatton, Americans Brooks Koepka (one of the big ones excluded from Team USA at the next Ryder Cup) and Patrick Reed, both from the Arab Super League, will also try to challenge him. The spotlight will then be on Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas, Englishmen Marco Penge (27-year-old from Horsham, winner of two events in 2025, the Hainan Classic and the Danish Championship, who dreamed of a spot on Team Europe), Danny Willett and Jordan Smith, Danes Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen and Thorbjorn Olesen, Norwegian Kristoffer Reitan, Northern Irishman Tom McKibbin, Chinese Haotong Li, Polish player Adrian Meronk (who won in 2022), and South African Thriston Lawrence, who just repeated his 2022 success at the Omega European Masters. Among the Irish, there will also be room for Seamus Power (two successes on the PGA Tour) and a timeless champion like Padraig Harrington (who won the tournament in 2007). Rasmus Hojgaard, the only newcomer from Europe to Bethpage, will be absent from the third "Back 9" event, taking the place of his twin brother Nicolai (who will compete at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio, Rome, in the record-breaking 2023 edition).
