Coco Gauff is the highest-paid female tennis player as Forbes estimated the 21-year-old's earnings at $37.2 million in their annual list.
According to Forbes, The American - who captured her second Grand Slam title at this year's French Open - earned $12.2 million in prize money, but much more off the court since she has reportedly bagged $25 million from her sponsorship and endorsement deals.
With such figure, Gauff is well ahead of the rest of the top WTA stars since Aryna Sabalenka comes in second place with $27.4 million, while Zheng Qinwen earned $26.1 million and Iga Swiatek collected $24 million.
If you recall, Gauff's sponsorship boom happened shortly after her maiden Grand Slam win at the 2023 US Open. Now, the world No. 2's portfolio includes brands such as Rolex, New Balance, Bose, Barilla, etc.
What Gauff said about her sponsors once?
In one of her interviews from late 2023, the American tennis star publicly said that some of her sponsors wanted "to be more diverse," and she was thrilled to hear that. In that interview, the 21-year-old publicly mentioned New Balance as one of the sponsors who were "keen" to work with her.
While Gauff has evidently been earning nicely from her sponsorship deals, it is not as easy as some might think.
People think we just post a photo on the internet with that brand. People dont realize its like an 8-hour or 10-hour day. Lots of times you have commitments or have to do an event. For me its just been about trying to still capitalize on the moment, but also protecting my peace and my mental health and still playing the game I love. I think my team has done a great job helping me with that," she said at the time.
Brands love to do shoots before or during the US Open, and that means that Gauff will likely have some sponsorship commitments to fulfill.
