Stefanos Tsitsipas has had a challenging season, collecting a mediocre 20-15 record after Cincinnati. The Greek, who turns 27 today, has not won consecutive matches since Barcelona in April, and his latest defeat came in Cincinnati.
Stefanos defeated Fabian Marozsan in the second round before falling to Benjamin Bonzi 6-7, 6-3, 6-4. The former Major finalist did not play badly. However, he missedthe pivotal points after the opener and ended on the losing side.
Despite the setback, Tsitsipas remains optimistic about his future. He places focus firmly on his physical health and particlarly his back, which has troubled him intermittently for two years.
Maintaining his back stability is his top priority, with confidence that staying injury-free will pave the way toward better results and victories. Stefanos recently reunited with his father after a brief stint working with Goran Ivanisevic.
The Greek acknowledged that his father understands him best. Together, they are ready to bring him back where he belongs, and it all starts with those positive feelings of playing without pain.

Tsitsipas has a terrible 6-7 record at the US Open, never liking the conditions at the final Major event of the season. He will try to improve that score in a couple of weeks and gain a boost ahead of the remaining events of the season.
"I'm really happy that there are no signs of injury, which is great. It would be fantastic to win more matches, but I'm grateful that I can finish matches without any discomfort in my back.
That's a good sign. I did not imagine myself in this state until now, and I'm hanging on to that. I hope to keep my back stable and eventually start stringing victories again. That would be great," Stefanos Tsitsipas said.
