The story around Karrion Kross and Scarletts WWE futures just got murkier and according to new reports, the quiet behind the scenes might be a sign that something is going down.
Fightful Select reports that while Kross and Scarletts current contracts were set to expire on August 10, the situation may have shifted in the last few days. As of Monday, the pair had not been offered new deals and werent at WWE Raw. Then, on August 7, Dave Meltzer claimed Kross had now received a contract offer but since then, people inside WWE and close to the couple have gone silent.
Originally, the duo was scheduled to travel to Raw this week, but those plans changed. Sources close to WWE creative said there were tentative ideas to keep Kross on TV moving forward, but wouldnt reveal details.
Despite speculation, those who have spoken to the couple said theyve kept their contract situation close to the vest unless asked directly. As of Monday, they were still telling people inside and outside WWE that no offer had been made. But they were also never told that WWE planned to let their contracts run out without renewal efforts.
The report points out that it wouldnt make much sense for Kross and Scarlett to publicly announce when or if theyve signed, as the leverage of letting the clock run could be useful. It was also added that while nothing is confirmed, they believe the two have either been offered new deals or will be shortly.
Interestingly, this late-in-the-game contract approach hasnt been common in WWE since the departure of Dan Ventrelle, who had a habit of re-signing talent right before their contracts expired.
Kross and Scarlett originally signed three-year contracts in 2022, putting their expiration date right at August 10 meaning whatever is happening now will be decided very soon.
If WWEs goal is to keep fans talking, its working. Whether this is a legitimate last-minute negotiation or just another storyline twist, Kross and Scarletts future could be decided within days.
Do you think WWE is working the fans with this Kross and Scarlett contract situation, or is it really coming down to the wire? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
