Andy Roddick was joined in by Mike and Bob Bryan on the latest episode of his serve podcast and he decided to tell the audience about the time they literally had trash thrown at them over a bad Davis Cup call.
Between September 23-25, the United States took on Belgium in an away Davis Cup Playoffs tie. On the opening day, Roddick beat Christophe Rochus but James Blake lost to Olivier Rochus. The following day, the United States took a 2-1 lead after the Bryan brothers won the doubles rubber.
On the final day, Roddick was the first on the court and he took on Olivier Rochus. The Belgian managed to force a fifth set - but then in the deciding moments of the decider - one of his balls was called out and the American got the key break. On his podcast, the 2003 US Open champion admitted the ball was well in.

Roddick: The single worst call I've ever been the beneficiary of... We got trash thrown at us
It was the single worst call I have ever been the beneficiary of. I remember walking up to correct it and I remember you all and Patrick yelling at me turn the f--- around, go back. I ended up breaking. We were literally playing in front of 2500 people. It wasnt the biggest stadium ever. But we were going to be relegated and we win, but they called an overhead out that was maybe six inches inside the line," the American tennis icon recounted on his podcast.
With Roddick's win in the fourth rubber, the United States went 3-1 up and the tie was over.
So I held serve, and we got trash thrown on us as we were leaving. They started throwing things. That was a weird situation, the former world No. 1 added.

In the fifth dead rubber, Blake beat Steve Darcis and that sealed a 4-1 win for the United States. On his podcast, Roddick also revealed that they as a team agreed not to celebrate their win and just leave the arena.
