After the disappointment at the Wimbledon Championships in which he was defeated by Jannik Sinner in the semifinals without ever giving the feeling of being able to win Novak Djokovic decided to skip the Toronto Masters 1000 (where he has not played since the 2018 edition) and allowed himself a holiday in Croatia and Greece. The former world No. 1 is expected to return to action at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 before the US Open, but there is no firm news on his schedule for the moment.
The Serbian legend is giving his best to win the 25th Major title of his exceptional career, but his body is no longer brilliant until a few years ago and the peremptory rise of Sinner and Alcaraz has made this goal even more complicated for Nole.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion has shown that he can raise his level in the most important tournaments on the calendar and his experience still makes the difference, but it may not be enough to make tennis history once again.

The 38-year-old from Belgrade has repeatedly repeated that he has no intention of retiring and has expressed his desire to continue playing until the Los Angeles Olympics, scheduled for 2028, when he will be 41 years old.
Djokovic expected to return to Cincinnati
Novak is managing his schedule in the best possible way, with the aim of further extending his career and reaching new heights.
On the latest episode of his famous podcast, American legend Jimmy Connors discussedNole's choice not to play in Canada: "At this point in his career, Djokovic has to pay close attention to his schedule knowing that he is one of the oldest players on the tour. If he wants to be at the top of his shape in Grand Slam tournaments, he can't make mistakes. His next goal is the US Open and if I had been in his place I would have taken a break after Wimbledon as well."
