CM Punk has a lot of things going for him as he steps into SummerSlam weekend. He is set to face GUNTHER with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line, and the idea of Punk breaking through with another top title run is not a new one.

While speaking with JoBlo Celebrity Access, CM Punk was asked how he felt about the behind-the-scenes discussions shown in the WWE Unreal documentary. This was specifically in reference to talks involving the possibility of him winning the Royal Rumble or main eventing WrestleMania.

Rather than express disappointment about not being selected for those spots, Punk shared a deeper perspective. He explained that his view on success has shifted over the years.

For CM Punk, accolades like title wins or those marquee matches, like the main event at WrestleMania, are no longer the benchmarks that define his career. He is now in it to deliver consistent matches at this stage in his career.

CM Punk was able to check off a WrestleMania main event this year. He wrestled Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match. Only time will tell if he ever gets another shot in that big position, but he is certainly going to keep going just in case the opportunity arises.
