Travis Scott shocked the world at WrestleMania 41 when he helped John Cena beat Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championshipbut his WWE run ended as fast as it began. Now we know why Jelly Roll is getting the SummerSlam spotlight instead: Travis blew it.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE had serious plans for Travis Scott at SummerSlam, but the rappers noncommittal attitude tanked the entire angle. According to Meltzer, Scott was being considered for a heel role, possibly even a major celebrity tag team matchuntil WWE got fed up and pivoted to Jelly Roll.

Meltzer confirmed the original pitch for SummerSlam centered around Scottbut after he backed off, WWE tapped Jelly Roll instead, who has since appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live with Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre to hype the event.

The problem wasnt a lack of opportunityit was Scotts inability to lock in. A backstage source told Meltzer:
