A fresh trailer for WWE: Unreal just landed, and its turning heads. Released through Entertainment Weekly, the new footage gives fans their most detailed look yet at WWE and Netflixs upcoming docuseries, set to premiere July 29.
Narrated by Paul Triple H Levesque, the series promises rare access into the world behind the curtain. The trailer features behind-the-scenes moments with major WWE names like CM Punk, John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, and others. From backstage meetings to emotional home footage, its all packed into the five-part season.
Netflixs official description pulls no punches: In an unprecedented turn, WWE takes us behind the scenes into the writers room and the homes of their greatest Superstars to show the year-round work it takes to execute one of the most secretive shows in the world week over week. And when the curtain falls down, the business of getting a show to air is just as compelling as the main event.
Triple H spoke to Entertainment Weekly and explained the approach: Our business evolves and so do the expectations of our audience. When you look at the track records of Omaha Productions and NFL Films, it felt like we had the right partners in place to pull back the curtain and showcase WWE in a brand-new way.
The series is a co-production between WWE, Skydance Sports, NFL Films, and Peyton Mannings Omaha Productions. Media appearances by CM Punk and Rhea Ripley this week are also part of the rollout. Punk acknowledged how surreal it feels to let cameras into WWEs inner workings, admitting he was always taught to protect the business.
This trailer follows Triple Hs Instagram post from July 17 featuring a tense, red-lit face-off with Jey Uso and the bold tagline: Its more real than you think. Now, the trailer backs that message up with real footage to prove it.
Will WWE: Unreal finally show fans how things really go down, or is this just another layer of the performance? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
