The Young Bucks lost their tag team match against Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland at All In: Texas, but that wasnt the only thing they lost. Nick and Matt Jackson also lost their EVP status, and that came with a big change this week.
During AEW Dynamite, the Young Bucks were not happy about their Lyft ride to the arena. They did not get a limo as they are accustomed to. When they got their locker room, they found that they had been downgraded considerably as well.
The two were in a match this week in an All Star 8-Man Tag Team Match. ROH World Champion Bandido, JetSpeed and Brody King took on Josh Alexander, Hechicero and The Young Bucks. The former EVPs also did not receive their usual entrance, as their highlight video was replaced by something that looks like it was done in MS Paint.
They are also no longer getting the Nicholas and Matthew treatment. Now, they are only being called Nick and Matt again. Needless to say, Josh Roberts had fun making them livid during their in-ring introductions.
Don Callis seems to have aligned himself with Nick and Matt Jackson once again. Only time will tell how things pan out, but it seems that the Young Bucks are being pushed down the card a bit.
The Young Bucks might still be elite in the ring, but backstage, their stock is clearly plummeting. From losing EVP perks to suffering the ultimate disrespect with a low-budget entrance and stripped-down names, its looking like a full-blown fall from grace for Nick and Matt Jackson. With Don Callis lurking back in their orbit, this could either be their redemption arcor the start of something even messier.
