Goldberg may have gone out in a match against GUNTHER, but the WWE Hall of Famer isnt exactly thrilled with how his retirement went down.
While speaking to Ariel Helwani, Goldberg reflected on his final bout at Saturday Nights Main Event in Atlanta and he didnt hold back on his disappointment about the execution.
According to Goldberg, although he was grateful to face GUNTHER, he had always envisioned his retirement match taking place under different circumstances. A live television taping on a Saturday night in Atlanta wasnt exactly the dream sendoff he had in mind.
When Ariel asked what part specifically rubbed him the wrong way, Goldberg got to the point.
He then explained that his frustrations werent just about the venueit was also about how WWE handled his goodbye on-screen. He revealed he was cut off almost immediately when trying to speak to the fans after the match.
Goldbergs honesty adds another layer to what was supposed to be a celebratory moment. While he respects GUNTHER and was proud to go out against him, its clear he wanted more control and a bigger stage for what he called his final chapter.
