Goldberg may have hung up his boots, but he left one last impactliterally. During his retirement match against GUNTHER on WWE Saturday Nights Main Event, the Hall of Famer accidentally broke veteran referee Charles Robinsons rib with a thunderous spear. And now, Goldberg is owning up to it.

Robinson, whos 61 years old and still reffing with full intensity, shared the aftermath on Instagram, revealing bruised ribs and posting:

He followed it up by confirming that hell return to duty on WWE SmackDown next week in San Antoniobecause even a busted rib cant keep Lil Naitch out of the ring.

Now, in an update from Goldbergs July 15 appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, the former WWE Universal Champion opened up about the incident and revealed it wasnt some freak accident. In fact, he personally requested Robinson for the match because of their long-standing relationship.

Goldberg went on to praise Robinson for his toughness and resiliencesuggesting this isnt the first time the referees been on the receiving end of one of his brutal hits.

Robinson has always had a reputation for being one of WWEs toughest referees, and this latest moment just adds to his legacy. As for Goldberg, its clear he meant no harmbut when you hit like a truck, even the best-prepared refs arent safe.
